TikTok Tuesday - 9.28.21
Happy TikTok Tuesday Fam,
I like to keep it real and honest. I didn’t see any trends this week that I felt were large enough and impactful enough to mention on this email.
So we’re going to talk some TikTok Hot Takes:
Nordstrom teams up with Sage Rosen - https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMRWr9MHE/
Sage Rosen is a young influencer from LA that mostly dances on his TikTok. But what caught eye this week was very subtle and if you watched the above video you might have caught it.
Nordstrom combined a female TV voiceover with the song on his TikTok. It was a glass shattering moment for me. The voiceover TV style added together with a dancing TikToker. There’s something there. I’m going to keep my eyes out for other examples of these type of ads.
Burger King uses popular TikTok trend audio for National TV Commercial
A few months ago, I highlighted a trend where you pound your fists and answer 3 questions <HERE AN EXAMPLE>
Well recently, Burger King deployed a TV commercial using that sound. Of course, I’ve heard some songs from TikTok on the TV because they’re popular songs from artists like Drake or Doja Cat.
This sound was a trending sound on TikTokand I know for certain that Burger King’s marketing department is trying to capitalize on the millions of people you know that sound and know it’s from the app.
This won’t be the last trending sound we hear either. Audio marketing is a huge part of the ad experience. TikTok has show that over the last 2 years during its rapid growth.
TikTok introduces PINNED posts on profiles
I thought just large accounts could do this but I was able to pin some of my recent dances to the top of my timeline. Hit the … on the post that you want to showcase and hit PIN. Most creators are showcasing their most viral videos so that when new people arrive at your page, you can show them your tops posts. (Source: Social Media Today)
Crush your week fam! I’ll be back on the east coast next Tuesday!
